Because pickups are the workhorses of contractors and renovators alike, it's worth noting the maximum towing capabilities for the RAM is 12,750 lb (5,783 kg) while the GMC Sierra tops out at 12,200 lb (5,534 kg). To compare payload capacities, the Ram 1500 standard bed Quad Cab has a 2,320 lb (1,052 kg) maximum payload capacity and the Sierra 1500 Double Cab maxes out at 2,250 lb (1,021 kg).
